A plethora of DLC add-ons, most developed by the devs and a few by local content-creators (and a couple are FREE!) VERY active community on the Steam Workshop, with new assets (and mods) daily! VERY active devs (no sign of the game losing support or community involvement for several years to come) Actual traffic simulation: base game offers a plethora of road networks, vehicles, and are (to a point) customizable Lack of mod-ability and content creation there are mods available, but not always guaranteed to work first time or how you would think (especially with the U-DriveIt feature) Isometric camera (only four directions to choose from) Practically full control over taxes and spending, such as amount of ambulances for hospitals, or radius of school buses. Ability to drive a vehicle throughout your road networks (U-DriveIt) A great music soundtrack, with ability to add your own (adding your own to a folder already in the game files - oddly enough, same location you would if you got the disc version of the game) Built-in bridge style selector, including the Golden Gate Bridge (San Francisco, California) A lot of unique buildings such as casinos and the Empire State Building Sure, SC4 is a classic city builder, but CSL is more modern with current, futuristic, and old-style architecture. I actually have both on my account, with more hours dedicated to SC4 than CSL (before I had Steam, that is I had the original game on a disc). In terms of city development and overall options, "Cities: Skylines" is definitely preferred.
